Layers of sediments

Like in nature the moving sands will separate and they build layers.
To achieve that effect we need sands with different weights. We have heavy and light particles, which separate into layers creating the impressions of natural formations.
By using dark and light materials we get shades and colour nuances.
There is much more to say about this, but I must refrain from a complete description because those details are the result of long years research.
