Space travel has intrigued Sandman since his childhood. He wanted to become an astronaut but his teacher said you cannot have teeth fillings for that job. So he gave up on his dream but his fascination for space and its secrets remained and had been strengthened by the Star Trek series of the 1970ies. Hint: have a look at the NASA site if you are interested in space. The Blue Marble project put hundreds of satellite photos together to create a complete view of the earth. The first earth background Sandman used in 1997 was the one the Apollo crew took – quite blurry.
This image shall remind us of the fragility of our home, planet earth.

RELAXING AND EXCITING
Moving sand art has a kind of magic, enchanting young and old alike.
That magic is caused by the curvy and slow movement of the sands on their way down to bottom. From brain research we know that certain kind of movements can sooth us. Like watching a fire or a waterfall. Those are the kind of movements sending the signal no danger here. They produce alpha waves in our brain, causing a calm and concentrated state of mind.
Using sand art for soothing and relaxing is the simplest kind of meditation. And it works without learning any techniques: turn the picture, watch and relax.
You will turn it again and again, just because you are curious about how the next sand formation will look alike.
YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR SAND ART!
