Sandpictures in the field of art:
The same artisans from the Isle of Wight filled lose sand into bottles and glasses. Between 1860 and 1890 the deaf artist Andrew Clemens from Dubuque, Iowa created pictures in bottles which are of outstanding beauty and precision. Many people know the guys from Egypt or other desert countries, which earn their money by painting dunes and camels inside bottles and adding the name of the fascinated tourist watching him doing that within less than 10 minutes. But the real 3-D you get if you attend one of the countless sand sculpture festivals, at which the traditional sand castle at the beach is taking to the max. Here you find castles with all the details, over-sized statues, dinosaurs and bizarre scenes built from sand.
