The different types of sands slightly blend together and form shades like in a beautiful aquarelle painting. This is missing in sand pictures with coarse grains or sand pictures with only a few types of sand.
Our sand mixtures are generally combinations of 5 different types of sand. There are exceptions with fewer types of sand and the most complex mixture is composed of 8 different kind of sands. We use extremely fine grinded minerals, natural sands (desert, beach, river), coloured quartz sands, colour powders and glitter particles and for very rare collections we even use crushed minerals such as amethyst, turquoise or garnet. Most important is, that each type of sand has a different weight. This is why the sands separate and form layers. The differences in weight are caused by the size of grain or specific weight.
